Many owners in Pakistan think they need a broker to sell or rent out a property. You don’t have to. With good preparation and a few safety checks, you can deal directly with buyers and tenants. Here is how.
1. Get your documents ready
Keep your ownership papers, a copy of your CNIC and recent utility bills ready before you list. Serious buyers and tenants will ask for them, and having them at hand builds trust quickly.
2. Decide a fair price
Look at similar properties in the same area and compare size, condition and location. A realistic price gets more calls. A price far above the market gets ignored.
3. Take clear photos and write an honest description
Bright photos of every room and the outside, plus the exact area, size, floor and number of bedrooms and bathrooms, make your listing stand out. Mention nearby markets, schools and main roads.
4. List it where people are looking
You can add your property on NoBroker.com.pk in a few minutes. Then share the link with friends, family and local WhatsApp and Facebook groups.
5. Screen buyers and tenants
Meet in person at the property. Check the other person’s CNIC and, for tenants, ask for a reference or their workplace details. Do not hand over keys or documents before everything is agreed.
6. Put everything in writing
For a rental, sign a written rent agreement. For a sale, use the proper legal process for your city and get a lawyer to check the papers. Read our checklist on what to include in a rent agreement.
7. Handle payments safely
Prefer bank transfers and always give and keep receipts. Avoid large cash payments without written proof.
